Lionel Barrymore (1878-1954) American actor. One of a family of distinguished theatricals, notably his sister Ethel Barrymore (1879-1959) and brother John Barrymore (1882-1942), Lionel achieved great popularity as a character actor with his roles in such films as You Cant Take It With You and in the first Dr. Kildare series of films.
